ECITB/CCNSG Safety Passport Scheme
Course Description:
The CCNSG National Course is a two-day training course in basic site safety. On completion, successful candidates receive a CCNSG Safety Passport. This is the engineering construction industry safety card, which is valid for three years.
Course Aim:
The aim of the CCNSG Safety Passport Scheme is to ensure a basic knowledge of health and safety for all site personnel to enable them, after appropriate site induction, to work on site more safely with lower risk to themselves and others.
Course Objectives:
The CCNSG National Course covers the following topics:
- Safe behaviours at work, including consequences of good and bad safety practices and the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
- Risk assessments, including fire safety, hazardous substances and asbestos.
- Hierarchy of control.
- Manual handling.
- Provision and use of work equipment regulations.
- Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome.
- Working in confined spaces and working at height.
- Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations.
- Site transport.
- Signage.
- Excavations.
- Electric/Isolation.
- Environment, including noise.
- Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences.
Assessment:
The course is split into 4 modules. At the end of each module delegates are required to complete a multiple choice test. In order to pass delegates must achieve 80% or more on each test. Delegates will be allowed a total of 1 re-sit throughout the course.
Certification:
Everyone who passes the CCNSG national course is awarded with a safety passport from the ECITB. It takes approximately three days for the passport to arrive, although all successful candidates will be provided with a temporary passport at the end of the course. The temporary passport can be used as evidence of your skills and training in health and safety for a period of up to six weeks.
Entry Requirements:
There is no prior learning required, however delegates must have a conversational use as well as a written and spoken understanding of the English language.
Progression:
Delegates looking to progress into a supervisory role should attend the CCNSG Supervisor Passport course. In order to be accepted on to this course you must already hold a current and valid CCNSG Safety Passport.
Cost:
£175.00 + VAT (£198.00 Inc.) per delegate
The course fee is made up of a Training Course Charge of £165.00 which covers registrations, examinations, certification, publications and audits.
The course fee also includes a £10.00 optional charge for parking & beverages
