Course Description

Aim

The NEBOSH HSE Certificate in Health & Safety Leadership Excellence has been jointly designed by NEBOSH and the UK’s health & safety regulator- the Health and Safety Executive (HSE). It is designed to support both leaders and aspiring leaders in gaining core understanding of how their behaviours and responsibilities directly impact on health and safety management. The NEBOSH HSE Certificate in Health & Safety Leadership Excellence is suitable for those who have leadership responsibilities across all industries. This includes:

  • Managers, supervisors and employee representatives
  • Newly-appointed and aspiring managers

Course Content

The NEBOSH HSE Certificate in Health & Safety Leadership Excellence consists of one unit:

Unit HSL1: Health & Safety Leadership

  • The Foundations of Health & Safety Leadership
  • Human Failure and Decision Making
  • Leadership

Assessment

The NEBOSH HSE Certificate in Health & Safety Leadership is assessed by an on the day assessment which includes a leadership intervention.

Entry Requirements

There are no specific barriers in terms of academic qualifications, skills, or experience to entry to the NEBOSH HSE Certificate in Health & Safety Leadership Excellence however a good standard of English is required.

Pre-Course Reading

Candidates are required to spend 3 hours completing pre-course reading.
This includes:

  • Researching your organization’s health and safety vision;
  • Researching your organization’s key health and safety risks
  • Understanding what is included in your organization’s health
    and safety policy and the objectives that the policy sets
  • Understanding the responsibilities for health and safety which
    are set for all levels of workers within the organization

Cancellations

Refunds of fees will only be made for written cancellations received at least 21 days prior to the start of the course (less a 10% cancellation fee to cover administration costs). However, we are happy to accept substitute delegates. Any changes to delegates should be notified, by telephone, as soon as possible.Bookings that are accepted within 48 hours are deemed confirmed and subject to payment, even if the delegate is subsequently unable to attend.
