Aim

This five day intensive course is a specialist IOSH accredited course and covers all the fundamentals of safety management within the construction sector. An exam and project is part of the structure of the course and successful candidates receive an IOSH Certificate

Objectives

Upon completion of this course, candidates will be able to:

• Understand the main legal requirements in relation to the construction industry
• Distinguish between the duties & responsibilities of the employer & employee, client, contractor & sub contractor
• Assess the competence of contractors & sub-contractors
• Recognise and know how to manage common hazards on construction sites
• Undertake risk assessment & risk control in relation to site activities
• Investigate accidents and incidents and take remedial action
• Know the importance of continuous active monitoring and be able to prepare and use inspection checklists
