Crane Lift Supervisor (CPCS A62)

Course Description

Aim

The Crane Lift Supervisor (CPCS A62)  course is designed for supervisors and slinger/signallers who will be supervising crane lifting operations on site. It is accredited by the Construction Plant Competence Scheme (CPCS).

Course Content

This course is administered by the Construction Plant Competence Scheme and topics covered include:

  • Legislation, Regulations & Codes of Practice
  • Duties & responsibilities of personnel involved
  • Maintenance, inspections examinations and testing requirements
  • Different types of lifting accessories
  • Slinging techniques
  • Weights & Centres of Gravity in relation to method statement
  • Communication of the lift plan
  • Liaison with the Appointed Person
  • Hazards & Unsafe Lifting Practices
  • Controlling lifting operations using the lift plan

Assessment

Candidates will take a short test and complete a practical assessment. Successful candidates will receive the CPCS A62 qualification.

Please Note

Candidates must already hold a CPCS A40 Slinger/Signaller Card. This CPCS A62 qualification can only be issued if the candidate has an in date CITB Health, Safety & Environment – Managerial & Professional Test, which has to be achieved before undertaking the CPCS technical test.

Cancellations

Refunds of fees will only be made for written cancellations received at least 21 days prior to the start of the course (less a 10% cancellation fee to cover administration costs). However, we are happy to accept substitute delegates. Any changes to delegates should be notified, by telephone, as soon as possible.Bookings that are accepted within 48 hours are deemed confirmed and subject to payment, even if the delegate is subsequently unable to attend.
