The Engineering Construction Industry Training Board (ECITB/CCNSG)
ECITB, is a statutory body with responsibilities to Parliament and the industry. It was formed in recognition of the engineering construction industry's vital role in the UK economy. The board's primary purpose is to initiate, promote, improve and facilitate training throughout the industry. To date approximately 120,000 client and contractor staff have undergone the ECITB basic course.

The National Examination Board In Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH)
Established in 1971, NEBOSH, is the main route for entry into the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health, IOSH, by examination. NEBOSH offers two levels of examination: The National Certificate, for managers and others with greater responsibility for safety and health at work. The National Diploma, for those wishing to progress to full time employment in safety and health.

Safety Pass Alliance (SPA Passport)
The Safety Pass Alliance (SPA) purpose is to design and implement Safety Passport Training Schemes and to effect their delivery through a national network of accredited training providers. Working with industry, the SPA is committed to providing a nationally recognised standard of health and safety training assurance via a multi-industry health and safety training passport scheme. These industries include food, petrol retail, underground railways and quarries. This health and safety training passport is similar to any passport. It allows access to a passport controlled work environment.
